Monday 16 March 2026: an hour in the heart of aristocratic Verona

In the historic centre of Verona, just a short walk from the city's best-known sights, hides one of the gems least visited by tourists: Palazzo Miniscalchi-Erizzo on Via San Mamaso. On Monday 16 March at 4:00 pm, the museum hosts a guided tour in English lasting one hour — a perfect opportunity for those who want to step off the beaten track and dive into the story of one of the oldest noble families in Verona.

The palace was a private residence for more than five centuries and lived in until 1977: a detail that makes it strikingly different from many other museums, because it still preserves intact the atmosphere of a lived-in home, with all its layers of history overlapping. Since 1990 it has been open to the public as an eclectic museum, and inside very different collections coexist: paintings, archaeological finds, 18th-century Venetian furnishings, ivories, porcelains and Renaissance weapons.

Among the most fascinating pieces in the entire collection stands out the Wunderkammer of Ludovico Moscardo, the famous 17th-century "chamber of wonders", which gathers curious and precious objects in the tradition of the encyclopedic collections of the time. And among them, a one-of-a-kind piece: the famous Verona astrolabe, one of the most important historical scientific instruments preserved in the city.

The tour takes place entirely in English, which makes it particularly suitable for foreign visitors or those who prefer to enjoy the cultural experience in the international language. The duration is about one hour, an agile format that fits easily into a day of city exploration.

The cost includes both the entry ticket and the tour: €10 full, €8 reduced (VeronaCard, CTG, ESU Verona, COIN Card), free up to age 11. Reservation is required: contact the museum via WhatsApp at +39 338 2247935 or write to edu@museominiscalchi.it.
