What to see and do during Artinrete

From 1 to 3 May 2026, Verona becomes a vast stage for contemporary art. Artinrete returns, the festival promoted by ArtiVer with the support of the City of Verona, which for three days brings museums, galleries, theatres and cultural spaces to life in every corner of the city: from the historic centre to Veronetta and the ZAI district. This is not just an exhibition event. Artinrete is a scattered urban journey, designed to connect places, people and contemporary creativity. Exhibitions, performances, concerts, workshops, guided tours and meetings with artists multiply across the city, building an experience that goes well beyond a single museum visit. The festival embraces some of Verona's most significant cultural spaces. At Palazzo Forti, reopened to the public in October 2025, you can visit Ápeiron | Without borders, an exhibition exploring the languages of contemporary art, accompanied by audiovisual performances and evening events. The Achille Forti Modern Art Gallery hosts video-art screenings and a lecture on the evolution of sculpture, from Medardo Rosso to Erwin Wurm. At the Scavi Scaligeri International Centre of Photography, with a special festival ticket, you can visit the exhibition Winter Games!, dedicated to winter sports photography drawn from the Life archives between 1936 and 1972. There are also special openings at Galleria dello Scudo with works by Carla Accardi, and at Studio la Città, Peter Frey Gallery and Collezione De Iorio. At the Teatro Ristori, instead, the heart of the meetings is concentrated: three days of dialogues, screenings and conversations with leading figures of Italian art, including Emilio Isgrò, Valerio Berruti and Costantino D'Orazio. Saturday evening closes with a concert ("Guaranteed emotions"), while on Sunday the contemporary dance performance Janua Coeli – Solstice Doors and Carlo Vanoni's show wrap up the festival in great style. In the courtyard of Palazzo Forti, on Sunday afternoon, a free Social Dance workshop is also planned, open to everyone: a chance to experience public space in a new way. The programme is designed to be accessible and participatory: many activities are free or have reduced prices, and they appeal to both first-time newcomers and seasoned art enthusiasts.
