A meet-the-author evening in Bardolino: between genius, wonder and science
If your stay around Lake Garda brings you to the area near Verona towards the end of March, it is worth making a stop in Bardolino for a special evening. On Friday 27 March 2026, at 8:45 pm, the Teatro Corallo hosts the second appointment in the Meet the Author series: the protagonist of the evening will be Federico Taddia, one of the most appreciated journalists and writers on the Italian science-communication scene. Admission is free while seats last â a good reason to arrive a little early and enjoy the atmosphere of the theatre before the evening gets underway.
The book at the centre of the meeting is titled Escape from Wonder. The brilliant life of Albert Einstein between violin, compasses and socks, published by Mondadori in 2025. The title alone is enough to surprise: it places the figure of history's most famous physicist alongside unexpectedly human, almost domestic details. And indeed this is exactly Taddia's approach: not a scientific biography in the strict sense, but an authentic attempt to get closer to the man behind the equations.
Einstein told through his rare and precious ability to keep wondering at the world even as an adult. A quality that, according to the author, was the real engine of his genius. A book about curiosity, stubbornness and freedom of thought: themes that can speak to anyone, not just physics enthusiasts.
The evening will be moderated by Federica Augusta Rossi, and is part of a cultural series organised by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bardolino together with Fondazione AIDA: a programme that each year brings quality authors to an intimate, informal setting, ideal for those who love direct dialogue with writers.
Bardolino, with its historic center overlooking Lake Garda, is in itself a pleasant destination in any season. Pairing it with an evening like this makes the visit even richer.
