"A Fool Forever": the comedy by Estravagario Teatro
If you are in Verona on 11 April 2026 and looking for an original way to spend the evening, it is well worth taking a short trip out to Bardolino. On the eastern shore of Lake Garda, the Coral Theatre will host a comic theatre show that promises laughter and a few unexpected reflections.
The event is organised as part of the theatre season promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bardolino in collaboration with Fondazione AIDA, a well-established player in Verona's theatre scene. A programme designed to bring good theatre beyond the city centre, reaching audiences in the villages of the surrounding area.
Taking the stage will be the company Estravagario Teatro with "A Fool Forever", text by Carlo Saglia and direction by Alberto Bronzato. At the centre of the story is Ludovico, a wealthy and self-satisfied man, convinced he is superior to anyone who crosses his path. Wednesday evening is his favourite moment: he picks out his victims, mocks them and amuses himself at their expense. But this time something goes wrong. A small domestic mishap and a meeting with a certain Osvaldo completely turn the tables, transforming the hunter into prey. A brilliant comedy that plays with the mechanisms of power and arrogance, with an ending that hardly leaves anyone indifferent.
The show is suitable for a broad audience: light in form but with something to say, it is the kind of theatre that knows how to entertain without being trite. For those travelling with small children, there is also good news: admission is free for children up to 3 years old.
