Explore the historical and architectural heritage of Verona
The Arena of Verona is a masterpiece of Roman architecture, probably built during the reign of Emperor Claudius between 40 and 42 AD. Measuring 152 by 123 meters in its outer part, it stands out for its elliptical shape and for the 72 arches in red limestone that originally featured three superimposed orders. This amphitheater, the third largest in the Roman world after the Colosseum and the Amphitheater of Capua, is today among the most visited monuments of Verona thanks to its exceptional preservation and the history it holds, witnessed by precise structures and passages still visible to the public.
