Located on the ground floor of the historic Palazzo Soave, the Velvet Bar represents one of the most refined additions to the Verona mixology scene. Inaugurated in December 2024, this cocktail bar enjoys dual access: on one side it overlooks the suggestive inner courtyard that houses the palace reception, while on the other it has an independent entrance on Via Leoni, making it a stand-alone destination from the hotel structure. The main room occupies a 15th-century hall of rare beauty, where two imposing stone columns support a finely decorated and skillfully restored coffered wooden ceiling, evidence of the artisan excellence of the era.

The heart of the venue is undoubtedly the bar counter, conceived as a true altar dedicated to the art of drinking. The structure combines fine materials such as glass, corian, stone and metal, enhanced by continuous backlighting that frames a spectacular full-height bottle display. The name Velvet evokes velvet itself and the atmosphere of class and elegance that characterizes the most exclusive venues of European capitals, from London to Paris and Berlin. The cocktail menu, curated by bar manager Samuele Pica, stands out for its creative approach: every drink tells its own story, illustrated by emerging artists who translate the master mixologist's inspiration into shapes and colors.
The mixology offer is rooted in classic tradition, enriched by contemporary contaminations that explore local and international ingredients: honey, flowers, sprouts, exotic fruits, spices and premium spirits such as whiskey, vodka, sake and pisco. For guests seeking a tailor-made experience, the Omakase formula offers a personalized journey in which the bar manager creates cocktails calibrated to individual tastes. The common thread of Samuele Pica's recipes can be summed up in two principles: simplicity and incisive flavor, characteristics also present in the low/no alcohol selection. During aperitivo, drinks are accompanied by finger food prepared by the bar's kitchen and a selection of cheeses and cured meats from the I Sapori del Portico shop in Arbizzano.
